2009 Mercedes-Benz SL
Mercedes has decided to let the current SL live for another couple of years before the new SL hits the streets. As such, the SL will get a major facelift next year.
As can be seen from the photos, test cars have been spotted in various places around the world - in cold weather testing in Scandinavia as well as on dusty roads in the warm spring sun of southernEurope.
The biggest change will be the CLS-style headlamps together with a new bumper and grille. Camouflage at the rear end hides a new shape and LED lamps. Another feature that will come in the facelifted SL is the AirScarf heating system in the headrests, now featured in the SLK.
Engines are likely to remain the same as in the current model, but rumors are buzzing about a turbocharged version of the 350 engine with 354 hp. The top of the line will continue to be the SL65 AMG with 612 hp. |
